El Pollo Loco

Quote of the week:
Us: *we show up at our dinner appointment
Little girl: " are these the missionary's wives...?"

Haha nope! There are girl missionaries too!

This week was super fun! OK, the title doesn't mean we had a yummy El Pollo Loco dinner (i don't think they have that restaurant here) but I'll explain the title at the end of this post.

To start off, we had a BOMB lesson with Mo. We taught the restoration and her neighbors were able to join us, she said she would pray about a date for baptism! We are so excited to see her continue to progress and come closer to Christ!

We also did service for Harvey and shared a message about the atonement and how important it is. The Atonement, is what Christ did when he was on the Earth. He took upon himself every single time you fell and got hurt, every time you got left behind, every time you made mistakes, every time you have felt alone. He has also felt every time you are joyful, every time you get a good grade, or when you are with your family, whether you are happy or sad, He has felt that. He understands. Because of this atonement when we make a mistake, if we try our best to be better (through repentance and faith) , Jesus Christ can make up the rest. So we can live a perfect life through Him and return to our father in heaven. Isn't that just the greatest thing!?

We had 2 lessons with a girl named Leah! She is our age and a member, and asked if we could help her learn more and help her to strengthen her testimony so she can go tot he temple. She is AMAZING! We taught about the restoration, and Heavenly Fathers plan of Happiness. Both lessons were just so spirit filled. I could truly feel Heavenly Fathers love for her so strongly.

THE YOUTH HAD MISSION LIFE AND WE GOT TO BE A PART OF IT! You guys! They experienced a mini MTC like we had in our stake! We got to go on the first day and talk to them about mission life. We made a little video (I'd send it if I could) it was a hit and they asked for a copy to use every year!
The next day we took a companionship out with us and showed them the ropes of missionary work and taught a few lessons. There were so many miracles! It was so cool!

To end off the week we had a little bit of an adventure to share... which kinda explains the title...
Ok, to start it off, the ward members we live with went out of town for a few days and so we were able to look after the chickens and kittens! Except we went out to check on them in the morning... ONE OF THE CHICKENS GOT OUT OF THE RUN!? couldn't tell ya how.... beats me but we were literally trying everything to get it back into the run but it just kept running back into the field and all over the place! It was too fast for us so we tried to think for a sec. How are we gonna get this dumb chicken back in its coup?
Round 1: sisters vs chicken - We decided to just chase it grab it and throw it over... we ended up just falling on our faces... Round 2: sisters vs chicken - we can lour it with food....nope...
Round 3 : sisters vs chicken - slowly lead it in the garage door to the barn the back way... SUCCESS!!! it took at least a half hour...but it was really funny Haha and bonus! I think we scared the eggs right out of it! We got lots of eggs that day!

Also thanks so much for all the Birthday wishes everyone! It was so kind and thoughtful! I hope everyone has a great week!

Love,
Sister Bailey :)
