Hey everyone! Hope y'all had a good week and happy St.
Patrick's day!
SO...you know that feeling when you get called out, have to walk up in front of a bunch of people, and answer random questions from a member of the 70. Yeah. That happened. Let me give y'all the back story.
SO sister Dunne and I were just getting back in our car and we get a call.
Sister Dunne: "brother....I have no clue how to say his last name.... is calling?"
Me: "hmm yeah I have no clue who that is, you got this one" (being that super cool/awesome trainer I am haha)
Dunne: "oh ok ok yeah I got this....Hi this is the sister missionaries!"
Caller: "Hi! This is the stake secretary, how are you?"
Dunne: "super good! What can we do for ya?"
Stake secretary: " so we have a guest speaker Elder Stacey, who is speaking at our Stake Conference and he has asked that all the missionaries be there for the leadership meeting before hand in 10 minutes, are you able to do that?"
Dunne: "uhhhh yeah sure! We are on our way!"
....
Phone call ends
Fast forward to the meeting, having no clue what in the world is gonna happen and why we need to be there. The other set of missionaries left half way through for an appointment leaving Sister Dunne and I.... then he asks for the senior companion. Yep, after that it was all pretty much a blur.. Haha. I was so nervous. He asked about how we plan and our goals, and I don't even know what I said but it was a crazy time for sure!
I LOVED stake conference though, I learned so much, one thing that stood out to me was when Elder Stacey said he could feel and hear our prayers. And he felt like someone in the room was struggling to know if Heavenly Father really is listening to their prayers. He testified so powerfully that he does hear our prayers. I know that to be true as well, even if you don't get answers right away, He hears you and truly loves each of us so much!
I can relate to that feeling sometimes, when you pray fervently for guidance on what to do next and feel nothing in the moment. We had this experience while on exchanged with Sister Bentley, we had no appointments that day and so we just tried contacting and tracting to find people. I kid you not, literally NO ONE answered their door except one member family and our dinner appointment haha. We prayed, we took action, we had no clue what else to do. We felt unsuccessful as missionaries, later realizing that is not true! It doesn't matter how many people you talk to, it matters that you try and that you have faith that Heavenly Father will provide.
The very next day we found 7 new potential people to teach! COOL RIGHT!?
We had a lesson with the Negomir family, we talked about the Plan of Salvation and they has questions about baptism and why we need to be baptized. We asked them to read 2 Nephi 31 and we will talk about it in our next meeting on Monday.
Over all this week has been AWESOME! Loved every bit if it. I hope all y'all had an AWESOME week as well!
Love,
Sister Bailey :)
