Ok
you guys Haha. I'm gonna start with the crazy stuff from this week. There
serriously is something going on every weekend in Baker. This week was the
Shriner parade. A shriner is something that I have no idea what it is. People
have tried explaining it but cant seem to finish their explanation because they
dont really know, or it just doesn't make sence to us when they explain it lol.
But hey throw it into a parade and you get free candy right! Score! I love that
there are so many events because we get to see the people that we usually cant
seem to get in contact with! After the parade there was a cattle women
fundraiser lunch and it was good. I also learned how to make cow pie dessert!
While on the topic of parades there was a parade of cows just roaming the little dirt road we were driving on after our lesson with Tori. They were just chilling OUTSIDE OF THEIR FEILD. And there was no break in the fence that we could see. And us "city folk" of course have no clue what to do so we call tori and she's all like "you guys dont keep a rope in your car for when this happens?" Um NO Haha wut. So we are waiting next to these cows and they are scattered by now and she drives up next to us and says that she doesn't see any cows or broken fence and we are telling her they for sure are out and we saw them and she's like "your crazy there is no...oh look cow" and drives up to it hahaha. Then we had to go home because curfew but the cows are safe. We also got to finish our lessons with her and she is so excited for her baptism! August 17th!!! Wooo!!
We were also able to see Tori at the tri ward youth activity! We played capture the flag... they dont play games around these parts... it was intense but SO FUN.
Lessons:
We taught Jess on Sunday and we were able to learn more about her fears and concerns. She has had some amazing experiences with the spirit guiding her. She knows what we are teaching her is completely true. We just need to help her husband see that as well. We always have the lessons at a family's home in our ward. They own a game shop. After the lesson we get to play a game. WE PLAYED MEXICAN TRAIN!!!! I missed that game SO MUCH.
We also got a referral for a lady named Joni. She is very sweet and very much a talker. We are going to go every week to do service for her and read to her from the book of mormon! She is so stoked!
Then we went to Halfway to visit the branch for Sunday. I LOVE THEM. They are so cute and nice out there! The chapel is about the size of a half court in basket ball and they still didn't fill all the seats. We got to visit 2 people who want to take the lessons and be baptized! Its tricky to set up appointments with them because they are so busy and they live an hour from Baker, where we usually are. We hope we can set up Skype calls!
Also while out here in halfway we almost hit 2 deer and A WASP STUNG... stang...stinged? Idk MY HAND!!! I went to close a gate and I litterally thought i touched an electric fence it hurt so bad then we realised they were building a nest inside the gate and I grabbed it right there ugh.
Miracle time:
Linda. We were going through area book looking at people who used to take lessons from the missionaries, but for whatever reason stopped taking lessons. We saw Linda's name and thought we should check in on her and see hows she is doing. We got there and we talked for a good bit and she straight up asked if she could be baptized right there!? We were like uh yeah! We have to teach you about it first haha. Heavenly Father truly answered prayers! He led us to someone prepared to hear the gospel and I am so excited to keep you updated about Linda!
