We Went to a Concert !!?!

This week we:
-Met Jim and Jeanie
-Had a new member lesson with Riley
-Had a new member lesson with Ava
-Had a new member lesson with Desiree
-Went to Sumpter
-Went to institute
-went to the #redeemer interfaith concert with Tori
-Did some service in the park
-Saw Andrew 2 times after church.

Ok ok let's start from the top of the list.

Jim. Haha ok so there is this guy who was in our records who talked with the missionaries before us. We have not ever been able to get in contact with him. All of a sudden we got a text from him asking if we can talk and he kept sending us super random facts about things that the city is offering for retired people and stuff. So we decide to just go over and we finally got to meet Jim. He is so old Haha ( I mean that in the nicest way possible) turned out he just wanted to practice texting... BUT Miracle! We got to meet his caretaker Jeanie! She has never seen or heard about missionaries before and wants us to go to her home and teach her! Crazy right! Heavenly father for surely has a plan for everyone!

Ok so while we are on the topic of teaching people. We had 3 new member discussions this week. I always love those. It's super cool to see the different light that people have after baptism. When you teach them after baptism, it's the same exact lessons, they just have a different outlook and the spirit is more abundant. I love these people! Seeing the joy in their life from the gospel is the coolest experience EVER!

We also went to Sumpter this week. It's about an hour drive from Baker. (Our area is literally huge) There are a lot of less active members because there is no church building up there unless you drive an hour into Baker. There is about 6 members who come for church every week, and they are so faithful! One of the sisters took us around and showed us how to get everywhere/ introduced us to everyone! The drive was a bit scary at some times Haha but she is SO CUTE! And such an awesome member missionary. I felt so bad because everyone she made plans to visit with us didn't answer the door :( BUT miracle pt. 2! There was a free outdoor piano concert, which was probably the biggest thing that ever happened to this town. Everyone was there! We got to meet so many people. Then after the concert we needed something before leaving town and decided to stop by a store real fast. We found 2 less active members that we had no record for! They are super cool and want us to come back again and talk to them! Woohoo!

Ok next item on the list .... institute! You guys Haha there is literally 2 people in the institute class and they are both converts to the church. Yet they still have the class every week! Everyone is so faithful! We got to join them this week and it was on such a good topic. They talked about being single in the church with not much support. Being both converts, their family is not members so we were able to discuss ideas and ways to continue in faith when we have trials and are tested with no support. We also heard a lot about faith in Jesus Christ at a interfaith concert! Yeah concert!

Ok so this was actually crazy. They had an interfaith #redeemer concert in Nampa where famous artists sang about Jesus. President said we could go if we brought someone we are teaching and got a member ride. The artists were David Archuleta, Marie Osmond, Alex Boyé, Nashville Tribute Band, Daniel Emmett. We took Tori and got to go! It was quite a drive but AWESOME! we got to gain a better relationship with Tori which was SO good! We talked about baptism plans like the whole way and she is so excited!

There isn't much to say about the service in the park, we just helped hang up a huge banner but it was fun!

One one last miracle that I want to share is about Andrew. Andrew has had a hard past and has been looking to change his life and be better. We met him last Sunday when he came to church out of nowhere! We talked about lessons and learning more about what we believe. He took our number, and said that's something he would have to think about. We waited a week but for the whole week we kept seeing him EVERYWHERE! One day he just rode his bike past us and we waved, and another day he was outside smoking across the street while we were getting gas and we got to say hi. He came back to church the next week and later requested lessons! We are getting that set up with a member right now! Miracles!
Heavenly Father is so aware of EVERYONE! He has a perfect plan we just need to trust in him and his timing. I love you all!

Love,
Sister Bailey :)
