Who Let The Cows Out?

Wow what a week! So many miracles, so many good times, so many... cows ha.

So to start off the miracles that happened this week, Sofia had her baptismal interview! She is officially being baptized the 28th of September!! We are super stoked!

Right before we met with Sofia we had Zone Conference in Ontario... Canada ... Haha just kidding just kidding Ontario Oregon haha. That wasn't really funny but it's fine. At Zone conference we talked a lot about technology and many different ways we can use it to help further the work of the Lord. Sister Higgi is from temple square so it's pretty much all online teaching there so we got some nice tips and tricks from her!

Speaking of technology one of our greatest resources is comeuntoChrist.org , it is a great way to come closer to Christ. There was a man moving from Washington to Baker City and he was on that website because he was searching how he could gain a stronger relationship with Christ and find the truth out of so many religions. He looked up where the local church would be in Baker and found the missionaries number and called us asking what time church starts and we asked if we could help him move in for service and talk with him more. We are going to meet hopefully the end of this week! Miracle!!!

Some service we did this week was canning! We canned pears....and it was so hard oh my goodness. It was fun though!
Lots of people can here, especially in Halfway they are super far from any grocery store... it's about an hour away unless they use the mini market thing Haha. We got to go up to halfway Saturday and Sunday! We got to introduce the newest sisters to the branch and the people we are teaching up there. There are about 5 people up there that want to take the lessons and be baptized, but our scheduling just never works. We didn't get to fully meet with any of them. But we did get to help give a bull some shots... then it sneezed on us eww. In Halfway it is also a free range land like everywhere.... so there are cows everywhere.... and if you hit someone's cow you are in trouble... also its hunting season so all the deer are coming this way and you gotta watch out for them too!

So story time. It was night time and we were headed back to the Smith's home to sleep and tender mercy... I was in the back, sister Higgi was in the passenger side, and Stevenson was driving. I did not have my glasses on so I couldn't see anything far away and if I was looking at my phone for directions I would not have seen anything. Sister Stevenson couldn't see anything so she had her high beams on. Sister Higgi has bad eye sight as well but she looked out and right as the car headlights reached it she noticed a small brown thing and she yelled COW!!!! and we stopped the car so fast! There was a black cow RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD THAT WE COULDN'T SEE AT ALL AHHHH but we stopped in time and slowly moved our way through them  miracles all around!

Sister Higgi has an awesome analogy that I want to share with y'all.
So the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the car, it keeps us safe from the world around us. The headlights are like the spirit, the Holy Ghost guiding and directing us and warning us of danger. We can focus on the gospel and use the gospel to increase our spirituality and ability to listen to the spirit. That brings us to be able to use the high beams to see farther. Though we have an increase in spiritual ability we are still going to have trials come at us we can just be warned more in advance like the brown cow off to the side. We were able to see that but not the black one in the darkness. Don't be discouraged if hard times come because they will eventually but if you build a strong foundation even a foundation on Christ you will not be moved, you will be able to overcome anything. I encourage y'all to do the things that will build your foundation on Christ so you can overcome those times.

I hope y'all have had a dandy week! I love you all!

Love,
Sister Bailey :)
